Shanghai Trustech Participates in the 9th Symposium on Medical Membrane Technology and Applications
From April 24 to 26, 2026, the 9th Symposium on Medical Membrane Technology and Applications, hosted by the China Membrane Industry Association and jointly organized by the College of Chemistry and Pharmacy of Guangxi Normal University, the Editorial Office of Membrane Science and Technology, and the Special Committee on Membrane Technology for Pharmaceutical and Biological Applications of the China Membrane Industry Association, with support from the National Innovation Center of Advanced Membrane Materials and the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Separation Membrane Materials, was successfully held in Guilin, Guangxi. Nearly 200 experts, scholars, corporate leaders, and engineering and technical personnel from universities, research institutes, hospitals, and enterprises across the country gathered to discuss the frontiers of medical membrane technology and trends in industrialization.
Shanghai Trustech was invited to participate and set up a booth, presenting hollow fiber membrane spinnerets and spinning machine solutions. The company engaged in in-depth exchanges with attendees on the stability and reliability of medical membrane equipment and pathways for R&D scale-up. A considerable proportion of the participants were cooperative customers of Shanghai Trustech, with research directions covering uniform-pore medical membranes, biomedical diagnostics, hemodialysis membranes, artificial oxygenation membranes, biopharmaceutical separation membranes, and traditional Chinese medicine separation, which also indicates that spinneret products provide a broad application foundation for the manufacturing of medical membranes.
During the conference, 48 experts and doctoral students successively shared the latest research achievements covering uniform-pore medical membranes, biomedical diagnostics, hemodialysis membranes, artificial oxygenation membranes, biopharmaceutical separation membranes, and traditional Chinese medicine separation membranes. The topics involved medical membrane materials such as PP, PVDF, PES, graphene, PTFE, molecular sieves, and ceramic membranes; medical membrane processes such as microfiltration, ultrafiltration, gas separation membranes, nanofiltration, electrodialysis, and membrane catalysis; and application scenarios spanning the entire industry chain, including traditional Chinese medicine extraction, bioethanol production, drug purification, antibiotic concentration, hemodialysis, and artificial lungs. In addition, a special doctoral forum was added, with nine doctoral candidates from institutions including Tianjin University, Sichuan University, Tianjin Polytechnic University, Zhejiang University, and Nanjing Tech University deliveringoutstanding report, providing a platform for young scholars in the field of medical membrane research to share results and exchange ideas.
During the event, Shanghai Trustech distributed brochures on hollow fiber membrane spinneret and spinning machines and application cases to visitors and highlighted the functional features of “www.memtools.cn” in R&D selection, capacity estimation, and porous process tuning references. This tool has so far provided spinneret specifications and parameter references to more than 600 customers across 39 countries worldwide and has been widely praised.
Over the years, Shanghai Trustech has continued to cultivate independent R&D and engineering practice in medical membrane spinning equipment and key components such as hollow fiber membrane spinnerets, leveraging an in-depth understanding of material systems and process windows to provide end-to-end technical support from laboratory to mass production. The company pioneered FCT spinnerets, achieving iterative upgrades from the 5th to the 8th generation, and took the lead in core technologies such as pinless design, independent spin cores, and on-line, non-stop rapid replacement. Its hollow fiber membrane spinnerets, hollow fiber membrane spinning equipment, and flat sheet membrane casting equipment are at the domestic leading level. To date, the company has obtained 41 items of independent intellectual property, led the formulation of the group standard “Hollow-Fiber Membrane Spinnerets,” and its products are sold to Europe, the United States, and 39 countries worldwide, serving 634 customers with more than 3,200 batches delivered, achieving a leading domestic market share. The company has been recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise and a technology-based SME, and its technologies have twice been identified as “domestically leading” by the Novelty Search Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, underscoring its industry leadership. Taking this symposium as an opportunity, the company will work with partners across industry, academia, and research to accelerate the innovative implementation of high-performance medical membrane equipment and promote the high-quality development of China’s medical membrane industry.
Through this conference, a bidirectional platform for exchange and cooperation between the membrane and medical industries and academia was established, further driving China’s medical membrane technology and industry toward a new stage of higher quality and higher level development, contributing the wisdom and strength of the membrane industry to building a Healthy China and safeguarding people’s health.
