TRUSTECH Secures Patent for Integrated Hollow Fiber Membrane Spinneret

China TRUSTECH today announced it has been granted a utility model patent for a  "New Integrated Hollow Fiber Membrane Spinneret Head, " addressing long standing challenges of low coaxiality and poor sealing in conventional hollow spinnerets to significantly improve production stability and membrane quality. Key technical innovations

Integrated coaxial architecture

  The spinneret comprises a fixing plate, spinneret body, and sleeve. The spinneret body is monolithically machined from high hardness stainless steel (HRC > 40). Its lower needle tube is manufactured as one piece with the body, ensuring coaxial precision between the needle tube orifice and the forming orifice (deviation ≤ 0.01 mm). Compared with traditional plug fit designs, the one piece structure eliminates assembly induced errors that cause uneven wall thickness.


Threaded compression sealing system

  The fixing plate's external thread mates with the sleeve's internal thread to compress the spinneret body's concentric shaft downward, achieving three effects:

    1) Precisely positions the needle tube at the center of the forming orifice.

    2) Enhances sealing between the spinneret body and cylindrical chamber via mechanical preload.

    3) Prevents dope leakage at mating interfaces.


Dual fluid optimized channels

  Core liquid path: Dope enters through an inlet at the spinneret body top and discharges directly via the integrated needle tube bore.

  Shell liquid path: Shell liquid enters the sleeve side inlet into an annular chamber, is guided by a tapered transition groove, and exits the forming orifice.

  The two channels create a stable  "core inner/lumen — shell outer " encapsulation at the spinneret tip, improving circularity and consistency of hollow fiber filaments.


Flow path optimization for laminar transition

  A 15° tapered transition at the spinneret body bottom reduces turbulence in the shell liquid.

  A 30° conical transition at the junction to the forming orifice supports laminar flow.

  A 0.5–1.0 mm clearance between the spinneret body and the chamber wall balances pressure distribution.


Demonstrated advantages

Precision: One piece construction improves needle tube coaxiality by up to 300%.

Durability: High hardness materials increase wear resistance by more than 5×, extending spinneret life.

Quality stability: Hollow fiber wall thickness fluctuation is reduced from ±15% to approximately ±5%.
