From July 2 to 4, 2026, the 2026 (5th) China International Gas Separation Industry Conference, organized by DT New Materials, successfully concluded in Ningbo, Zhejiang. Nearly 300 industry experts and practitioners from universities and research institutes, engineering general contractors, equipment manufacturers, and raw material producers in the fields of membrane, adsorption, absorption separation, and MOF/COF/HOF materials gathered at the venue to jointly explore cutting-edge gas separation technologies and pathways for industrial implementation.
The conference featured a plenary industry forum, a dedicated MOF/COF/HOF materials forum, and four application-focused sessions on CCUS, membrane separation, adsorption separation, and special separation, as well as a young scientists forum, forming five major exchange segments in total. More than 60 invited experts and scholars from the industry shared around their respective niche tracks, reviewing the current status of the industry, analyzing application pain points, and assessing the direction of industry development.
TRUSTECH attended the conference and engaged in in-depth exchanges with guests on the stability, reliability, and scale-up R&D pathways of spinnerets for hollow fiber membranes in gas separation. A considerable proportion of the participants were cooperative customers of TRUSTECH, with research directions covering high-purity hydrogen separation, helium separation, carbon dioxide separation, oxygen–nitrogen separation, nitrogen–methane separation, and other fields. This also demonstrates that spinneret products have provided a broad application foundation for the manufacturing of gas separation membranes.
During the conference, experts from multiple universities and research institutes affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences successively delivered special reports. Their research systems covered molecular sieve carbon capture membranes, polyimide hollow fiber separation membranes, mixed-conductor high-purity oxygen membranes, MOF-based composite separation membranes, pore channel regulation in zirconium-based MOFs, helium extraction from helium-poor natural gas, fluorine-free polyurethane functional membranes, and ultra-low-temperature separation of helium isotopes. These studies involved core membrane materials such as molecular sieves, polyimide, perovskite, MOF, and polyurethane, and encompassed preparation and separation processes such as membrane spinning and forming, seed crystal preparation, in-situ modification, low-temperature distillation, and phase-change-free coupled extraction. Application scenarios spanned multiple areas including carbon capture, distributed high-purity oxygen supply, purification of rare strategic gases, treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater, high-end protective materials, and special gas supply for quantum science and national defense. At the same time, multiple pilot production lines, demonstration units, and modular membrane component engineering achievements were showcased, fully presenting the complete technology chain for various separation materials from laboratory R&D to industrial scale-up.
During the conference, TRUSTECH introduced its spinneret products and application case manual to the guests, and placed particular emphasis on the functional highlights of “memtools.cn” in areas such as R&D selection, capacity estimation, and serving as a reference for tuning porous process parameters. This tool has already provided spinneret specifications and parameter references to more than 600 customers in 39 countries worldwide and has received widespread acclaim.
Over the years, China TRUSTECH has continuously focused on the independent R&D and engineering practice of core components such as gas separation membrane spinning equipment and hollow fiber membrane spinnerets. Leveraging its in-depth understanding of material systems and process windows, the company provides customers with end-to-end technical support from laboratory to mass production. It pioneered the FCT spinneret and achieved technological iteration and upgrading from the 5th to the 8th generation, taking the lead in developing core technologies such as pin-free design, independent spinning cores, and rapid online replacement without shutdown. Machining accuracy reaches 0.002 mm, placing it at a leading level in China. The company has obtained a total of 41 independent intellectual property rights, led the formulation of the group standard “Hollow Fiber Membrane Spinneret”, and sells its products to Europe, the United States, and other regions across 39 countries worldwide. It has served 634 customers and delivered more than 3,200 batches, with a leading domestic market share. The company has been successively recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise and a Technology-Based Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise, and its technology has twice been identified as “domestically leading” by the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Novelty Search Center, highlighting its industry-leading position. Taking this seminar as an opportunity, the company will join hands with partners from industry, academia, and research to accelerate the innovative implementation of high-performance gas separation membrane equipment and promote the high-quality development of China’s gas separation membrane industry.
This conference established a professional platform for two-way communication and collaborative cooperation between the academic and industrial sides of the gas separation field, clearly demonstrating the broad industrialization prospects of porous crystalline materials and gas separation technologies. As enterprises and academia continue to deeply cultivate the tracks of gas separation and new porous materials, and as high-quality industry–academia–research docking and exchange platforms are continuously built to accelerate the transformation of cutting-edge scientific research achievements, they will help China’s gas separation industry achieve high-quality, innovation-driven development.
