TRUSTECH Secures Patent for Enhanced Hollow Fiber Membrane Spinneret

China TRUSTECH today announced that it has been granted a patent for an enhanced hollow-fiber membrane spinneret that solves longstanding mechanical-strength limitations in conventional hollow fibers. By introducing an integrated braided-tube channel and precision fluid-control architecture, the invention provides critical process capability for producing braided-tube–reinforced hollow-fiber membranes used in high-pressure water treatment and specialty separations. Integrated Braided Tube Co Extrusion Architecture

The patented hollow spinneret adopts a split construction comprising a spinneret core and a nozzle cap:

The core features a braided tube guide shaft at the top (Ø 2–5 mm) and an integrated needle tube at the bottom (ID 0.8–1.5 mm), with a through core braided tube channel (coaxiality ≤ 0.02 mm).

A braided tube passes through the channel at 20–50 m/min and is co extruded with the cast dope emerging from the spinneret forming orifice, creating a reinforcement structure with the braid as an internal skeleton.

 

Precision Fluid Control in the Spinneret Plate

Dual annular damping grooves in the nozzle cap dope chamber limit flow rate fluctuation to within ±5%.

A reverse conical boss (30°cone) paired with a tapered transition groove (45°cone) enables laminar transition of the dope layer.

Tangential dope inlets generate a controlled swirl to improve mixing uniformity.

 

High Accuracy Alignment Mechanism

Core and nozzle cap are pin located with a 0.01 mm fit clearance.

The needle tube is co axially aligned with the spinneret forming orifice (deviation < 0.03 mm).

M4 stainless steel fasteners with dual stage locking improve anti vibration performance threefold.

 

Materials and Surface Engineering Enhancements

One piece stainless steel core, HRC 30–35.

Mirror polished needle tube surface (Ra ≤ 0.2 μm).

Hard chrome plating on critical contact faces (15–20 μm).
