TRUSTECH Wins Invention Patent for Embedded Multi-Orifice Hollow-Fiber Spinneret Plate

China TRUSTECH announced it has been granted an invention patent for an embedded multi orifice hollow fiber membrane spinneret plate, introducing a modular, quick swap architecture that breaks long standing bottlenecks in multi orifice integration and maintenance. As a China leading membrane spinning machine and hollow fiber membrane spinneret manufacture, TRUSTECH is advancing scalable, high precision membrane production for water treatment, healthcare, and chemical applications.

 

Key innovation: embedded, modular spinneret system

The system comprises a spinneret plate module base frame and multiple tubular single orifice spinneret heads.

The base frame is a three plate stack (upper, middle, lower) locked by screws to form a robust module:

Upper plate: includes a core liquid reservoir with two symmetric core liquid inlets.

Middle plate: machined with tube bores that accept the tubular single orifice spinneret heads via an insertion fit.

Lower plate: incorporates shell liquid guide channels and symmetric shell liquid inlets for uniform distribution.

Each tubular single orifice head is cylindrical, with a top core liquid injection port, a bottom forming orifice, multiple circumferential shell liquid inlets, and an internal annular shell liquid chamber. A central core liquid tube passes through to the forming orifice, creating the lumen while the shell liquid forms the fiber wall.

 

High precision positioning, sealing, and fast maintenance

Coaxial alignment is achieved by inserting the spinneret head into the middle plate tube bore and lower plate conduit; a guide groove and positioning notch in the conduit, together with a boss at the spinneret head base, provide rotate to lock functionality for quick release.

Dual O ring grooves (upper/lower) on the head ensure leak tight separation of core and shell liquids under high pressure.

A frustum shaped recess at the lower plate conduit bottom improves guidance during installation.

Single heads can be replaced or serviced without removing the full plate, sharply reducing maintenance difficulty and material loss while preserving line uptime.

 

Performance and scalability

Independent core  and shell liquid channels feed the embedded heads: the core liquid forms the internal lumen via the core tube, while the shell liquid envelops it to form the hollow fiber—supporting consistent, stable filament formation.

The modular structure supports flexible expansion from hundreds to thousands of orifices, overcoming conventional limits in machining precision and orifice count.

The design is applicable across reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, and microfiltration hollow fiber processes, offering broad process compatibility.

 

Technology leadership beyond the patent
